Ashley Mills, MA (Contract Therapist) [Boulder Office]
Ashley Mills has over 15 years of experience working with children and families in a multitude of ways including mentoring, teaching and now through the lens of Synergetic Play Therapy. From a young age, Ashley valued community and family, leading her to complete a Bachelors degree in Human Development and Family Studies from Colorado State University in 2009, as well as a Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with an emphasis on Mindfulness-Based Transpersonal Counseling from Naropa University in 2017. In the fall of 2016 Ashley was invited to become a full-time intern at the Play Therapy Institute of Colorado where she completed a 700 hour, year long internship. Ashley quickly fell in love with the Synergetic Play Therapy model recognizing it’s unique ability to bridge interpersonal neurobiology with mindfulness- based techniques allowing for a wholistic approach to play therapy and development.
Upon completing her internship, Ashley opened her private practice, Holding The Hope, LLC. Over the course of her training, Ashley discovered her area of specialty in intergenerational family trauma and in-utero/birth trauma working with numerous families to understand the impact these unique types of traumas can have on development later in life.
Ashley is thrilled to be joining Megan at A Vibrant Mind, LLC to continue deepening into the therapeutic alliance working alongside parents to help them turn toward core issues while remaining deeply rooted in the present moment. Ashley strives to hold a panoramic view of the helping relationship using transpersonal modalities that are reflective of each individual client to promote interpersonal growth and regulation.
